PURPOSE:To make efficient thawing of a freezed object to be thawed without uneven thawing by heating an object to be thawed and detecting uneven thawing which is shown in the object and setting and controlling the ON time in an ON-and-OFF control according to the unevenness of thawing to minimum limit based on the relation which has been beforehand sought between unevenness of thawing and the ON time required to eliminate the unevenness. CONSTITUTION:When a thawing start switch is turned on, a rotating table 1 which is being stopped operates a magnetron M for t1 seconds which are beforehand determined to heat an object 4 to be thawed. After the t1 seconds have passed, the table 1 is rotated with the magnetron M stopped, and taking-in to the control circuit of the output of a temperature sensor is started at the same time. If the table 1 makes one rotation, in other words the time t2 (t1>>t2) required for one rotation of the table 1 has elapased, maximum and minimum temperatures which the sensor 3 detects are calculated, and from these maximum and minimum temperatures an ON time for the magnetron which will not give unevenness in thawing for the object 4 is determined. And, On and OFF control is repeated for the magnetron until thawing is completed.
