PURPOSE:To enable the position of a paper to be easily corrected, by disposing a guide sheet of a flexible low-friction material along a part of the surface of a platen exclusive of a part against which a printing head is pressed. CONSTITUTION:A guide sheet 13 formed of a flexible low-friction material is disposed between a platen 7 and a paper guide 10 along a part of the surface of the platen 7 exclusive of at least a flat surface part against which a printing head 4 is pressed. The frictional coefficient of the guide sheet 13 is lower than that of the platen. A paper 9 inserted between the paper guide 10 and the guide sheet 13 is fed to a tractor 12 by a frictional force between a pressure roller 11 and the platen 7, and then the roller 11 is released in the direction of the arrow by a release lever, whereby the paper is set free. Thereafter, perforations of the paper are engaged to pins of the tractor 12. The frictional force on the paper is reduced by the guide sheet 13, and the area of contact of the paper with the platen 7 is also reduced, so that the setting of the paper 9 and correction of a skew of the paper can be easily performed. |
