PURPOSE:To eliminate the need for a process of releasing an ink medium and enable clear printing to be performed even in printing minute dots, by melting a thermoplastic magnetic ink at a transfer recording position by a thermal energy applying means. CONSTITUTION:This printer comprises a thermal head 21, an ink medium 22, a transfer recording paper 23, an electromagnet or a permanent magnet 24, a base layer 25 of the ink medium, and a magnetic ink 26. The magnetic ink 26 of the ink medium and the paper 23 are disposed out of contact with each other. The ink is transferred by a process wherein the ink is melted by thermal energy at least at a transferring part, and under the condition where the ink is activated by heat, a recording part of the ink is deformed or caused to fly by a magnetic attracting force. Namely, printing on the transfer recording medium is finished substantially simultaneously with the application of thermal energy to the ink, and there is no need for a process of releasing the ink medium. |
