The invention relates to a tilting mechanism with compensating springs for folding beds. This mechanism is composed of a casing 3, of a shaft with square end-piece 5 on which are welded two connecting rods 6 acting on two compression springs 11. This assembly is fastened to the bed 1 which is to be folded down. The square endpiece of the shaft 5 is integral with an outer support 15, fastened to a framing upright 2. It is the oscillation of the bed which actuates the connecting rods 6 compensated by the force of the springs and which balances out the manoeuvring of the flap. <IMAGE>
