BIOLOGICAL TREATMENT FOR HIGH TEMPERATURE ORGANIC WASTE WATER

PURPOSE:To control formation of NOx<-> in an aeration tank by providing a contact tank for waste water with returning sludge in the forward stage of the aeration tank, controlling water temperature under a specified level and deactivating nitrating bacteria in returning sludge. CONSTITUTION:After high-temperature raw water 1 containing returning sludge 2, organic substance and NH3 is kept in contact for a fixed time in a contact tank 3 maintained at the temperature of 45-60 deg.C, the organic substance is oxidatively destroyed in the process 4 of aeration and activated sludge mixed liquid is solid-liquid separated in a precipitation tank 5. Nitrating bacteria of activated sludge is deactivated during passing through the contact tank 3, and formation of NOx<-> is controlled in the process 4 of aeration. By this process, various problems following generation of NOx<-> can be solved.
