PURPOSE:To recover a developer from an image carrier by small-sized constitution without scattering by forming a potential slope in the order of the image carrier, a cleaning brush, and a conductive roller and removing and recovering an excessive developer on the image carrier. CONSTITUTION:The 1st and the 2nd bias voltage applying means 32 and 35 give the cleaning brush 23 and a recovery roller the potential slope which increases in the order of the image carrier 4, brush 23, and roller 24. The excessive developer on the carrier 4 is removed and attracted to the brush 23 with an electrostatic attractive force corresponding to the potential slope. Therefore, the small-sized constitution which requires neither a suction fan nor a suction filter recovers the developer without scattering and the image carrier is cleaned excellently. |
