PURPOSE:To charge a photosensitive body electrostatically and uniformly and to obtain the superior copy of an image by vibrating an electrostatic charger base provided with a contactor at right angles to the moving direction of the body to be charged electrostatically. CONSTITUTION:The charger base 24 as a base body is molded out of a resin material such as acryl and a fitting member 25 is fixed on its back surface. A rail 26 which guides the back surface of the fitting member 25 and the flank of the charger base 24 is fixed to a main body to guide the vibrations of the charger base 24 and fitting member 25 at right angles to the moving direction of the photosensitive body. An electrode 27 which has proper resistance is provided in front of the charger base 24 while covering it, and the contact 28 as an electric resistance body like cloth with thin and close nap is provided over the electrode. A conductive brush 30 is fitted on both sides of the reverse surface of the rail 26 and connected to a metallic electrode 29, and a DC/AC voltage is applied from an AC power source 31 and a DC power source 32 to the electrode 27. The charger base 24 is moved along the rail 26 through the rotation of a cam shaft 33 provided to a main body. |
