PURPOSE:A composition which shows improved herbicidal effects with a small amount by synergistic action and by a single application and exhibits economic effects free from phytotoxicity to paddy rice plants, comprising a specific compound of an almost novel substance and a propionic acid anilide compound as active ingredients. CONSTITUTION:A herbicide composition comprising at least one of a 1,4- dihydro-4-oxo-3-pyridinecarboxamide compound shown by formula I (R is H, vinyl, phenyl, etc.,; R3 is H or lower alkyl; R4 and R5 are H, 1-11C alkyl, lower alkenyl, etc.,; R6 is H, halogen, cyano, nitro, etc.,) which are almost all novel substances, effective against gramineous weeds, have little phytotoxicity to paddy rice plants, a wide application period for use and long prolonged effects and addition salt and at least one of well-known propionic acid anilide compounds shown by formula II (R is beta-naphthyl or phenyl which is unsubstituted or substituted with Cl or CH3) which have high effects on annual weeds and arrow head as active ingredients. |
