PURPOSE:To prevent the system-down of a star type line network system by providing a means for turning back a line by a higher rank repeating node, by drawing out a line connecting connector to said repeating node. CONSTITUTION:A plug 12 is a plug of a connecting connector to a higher rank repeating node which is provided with at least two or more idle terminals, and a selector 17 is a selector for selecting one of an up-line 14 and a down-line 15 and connecting it to a distributing part 18. In such a state, when the plug 12 is inserted into a jack 13, and when it has been drawn out, a signal P becomes '0'V and 5V, respectively. Therefore, when the plug 12 is drawn out, a detecting signal of 5V is detected, the selector 17 is operated, and the connection to the distributing part 18 is switched from the down-line 15 to the up-line 14. Accordingly, by drawing out the plug 12, the line can be turned back by the repeating node, and even if a fault is generated in the higher rank repeating node, the system-down does not occur.
