PURPOSE:To prevent the damage of a driver by providing a spindle depressing part made of a magnetostrictive material depressing a spindle by the magnetostriction effect due to the magnetic field of an attracting magnet to a center core base. CONSTITUTION:An inner circumference part 2b of a magnetic disk sheet 2 having a center round hole 2a is adhered to a flange 1a of a center core 1 held freely rotatably in a disc cartridge case. In loading the magnetic disk cartridge to the driver 4, as an attracting magnet 4a of the driver 4 is attracted by a magnetic chuck face 1b, the magnetostrictive material of a spindle pressing part 3 is extended in the inner direction of a center core 1. That is, a projecting part 3a is prolonged toward the spindle 4b fitted to the spindle fitting hole 1c of the center core 1 and the spindle 4b receives depression. Since the prolonged operation of the spindle depressing part 3 is caused by the magnet attraction, in loading it to the driver, no press fit is required, and the cartridge is aligned automatically with high precision. Thus, many flaws due to the friction between the driver and the center core are prevented.
