A heating apparatus according to the invention, for example a boiler for a central heating installation, is characterised in that the furnace 11, towards its lower part, communicates via a burner pipe 12 with a combustion and expansion chamber 13 situated upstream of a heat exchanger 14 which is itself positioned upstream of a fume box 15.
