Protective hood, more particularly a diver's hood, especially for use in a noisy environment. The hood encloses the head of the diver, a thin gap being maintained between the head and the inner side of the hood. The hood is provided with a face opening and consists of an elastic cellular material, for example made from rubber having closed cells, and is configured with a section having at least double walls, at least directly before the ear of the person. The object is to produce a protective hood which reduces the noise level whilst maintaining the pressure equalization which is required between the inner side and outer side of the diver's suit. This has been achieved by the material in the one wall having greater density than the material in the other wall and by each section on the inner side of the hood being provided with the material in a bulge enclosing the ear of the person and sealing against the head of the person, which bulge is arranged to communicate with the said gap via a screened opening. <IMAGE> |
