PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of a false signal of a moire, etc., by a simple constitution, by shifting the center of gravity of sensitivity of a picture element by a 1/2 picture element portion at every adjacent line, and also, providing an optical filter for gradating an optical image in only the vertical direction. CONSTITUTION:A light beam from an object to be photographed is made to form an image n an image pickup element 8 through an image pickup optical system 5, and optical low-pass filter OLPF, an exposure mechanism 7, a color separating filter CSF. This image pickup element 8 is constituted so that a picture element in the adjacent transfer channel is shifted by 1/2 pitch upward and downward (in the vertical direction), and also, a sensitivity distribution of each picture element in the adjacent transfer channel is overlapped in the horizontal direction. Also, the low-pass filter OLPF executes an operation for gradating an optical image only in th vertical direction. In this way, with regard to both directions of the horizontal direction and the vertical direction, an unnecessary high frequency component can be cut, and the generation of a false signal of a moire, etc., is prevented.
