PURPOSE:To perform the bending of a steel pipe with an optional bending radius by a simple device by fitting the device to cool locally and annularly same as the device to heat a metal pipe locally and annularly and by heating and cooling at the optional position of the steel pipe. CONSTITUTION:The end part at one part of a steel pipe 1 is fixed to the whirling arm 4 with O as the center line of rotation,the intermediate part thereof is held by a clamp 5 and a metal rod 13 is inserted from the other end part as well, the heating advice 2 of an induction heating coil, etc., is fitted to the tip thereof, further a cooling device 3 is arranged at the outside of the steel pipe. In case of bending the steel pipe 1 at the necessary pace, the heating device inside the steel pipe is moved to the necessary position by the rotation of a screw shaft 14 and the steel pipe 1 is annularly heated and softened by feeding from a transformer 13. The steel pipe is subjected to bending at the heating position by the clamp 5 by driving hydraulic cylinder 6 with the command from a controller 10, thereafter it is annularly cooled by the cooling water, etc., from the cooling device 3 and the steel pipe is simply bent by the optional bending radius at an optional position.
