PURPOSE:To prevent particles from being filmed on a latent image carrier when no latent image is formed by sticking a lubricant having the negative polarity positively on the latent image carrier. CONSTITUTION:A particle group with the opposite polarity which sticks on a drum 1 is removed by a cleaning member 15. At this time, even an image is absent and a control means 11 turns off a transfer charger 14 to guide the particle groups with the opposite polarity on the surface of the drum 1 to the member 15. Therefore, when no image is formed, the particle group with the opposite polarity is removed positively from on a sleeve 6, and thus the particle group with the opposite polarity due to the negatively charged lubricant is removed and particulate toner sticking strongly on particles with the opposite polarity is removed in normal copying operation. Further, the particles with the opposite polarity stick on the drum uniformly and prevented from being filmed. |
