PURPOSE:To obtain an S/N excellent together with a chrominance signal and a luminance signal by making a winding terminal for obtaining an FM modulated luminance signal smaller than the winding terminal for obtaining a low frequency converted chrominance signal in the ratio of the winding number at the other side of a transformer. CONSTITUTION:An output of a reproducing head 1 is inputted to the transformer 2 and the output thereof is inputted to a head amplifier 3. Herein, the number of the windings in the input side of the transformer 2 is considered to be N1 and the number of the windings in the output side is considered to be N3, N4 and the winding number ratio [N1/(N3+N4) of the output of the chrominance signal is made larger than the winding number ratio (N1/N3) of the output of the luminance signal. The outputs of the head amplifier 3 respectively provided with respect to the luminance signal and the chrominance signal are demodulated into a composite video signal. In such a manner, in order to improve the S/N, the winding number ratio in the chrominance signal is made large and the winding number ratio is made small in the luminance signal to make the respective ratios optimum.
