In a process for cleaning a heated tool of a heated tool welding device for plastics parts, a heated tool having heated surface pieces which are approximately complementary to the plastics surface pieces to be welded can be brought into a first position between the plastics surface pieces to be welded, said plastics surface pieces can be moved towards this position, heated and moved away again and, after removal of the heated tool into a second position, can be pressed against one another in the heated state. For time-saving cleaning, the process is designed such that, after said heated tool (2) reaches the second position each time, an absorbent heat-resistant non-woven fabric (12a, 13a) can be moved over its surface pieces (2a, 2b), a separate non-woven fabric strip (12a, 13a) being provided per surface piece (2a, 2b). <IMAGE> |
