PURPOSE:To prevent the breakage of a rotation transmitting mechanism from a wiper motor to an output gear by providing a clutch mechanism between the output gear and an output shaft which makes it possible to intermit the connection of the output gear with the output shaft. CONSTITUTION:When the external force acts upon an output shaft 7 which is going to block the reciprocating motion of a wiper blade, etc., it acts upon a transmission disc 11 and the component force is generated at slant faces 11k and 11m of the first coupled piece 11f and the second coupled piece 11h respectively with which the transmission disc 11 is equipped. As a result, the pieces 11f and 11h move a little towards the centre acting against a spring 12 and run off from the first engaged groove 10c and the second engaged groove 10d of an output gear 10 respectively to form a clutch mechanism as the output shaft 7 and the transmission disc 11 run idle. The external force acted upon the output shaft 7 is therefore interrupted by the transmission disc 11 and is not transmitted to the output gear 10.
