In the case of a push-button or slide-key switch having a housing part and having a switching plunger which can be displaced in the said housing part in the operating direction, and having a switching sequence mechanism by means of which the switching plunger latches in the depressed position when it is initially operated and the latch can be detached when it is pressed again and the switching plunger can assume its rest position, and having a lateral slide which can be displaced transversely with respect to the operating direction, can be displaced via another push-button switch (which can be mounted in a common frame) and can unlatch the latching of the latched switching plunger, an oblique inclined surface (5) is provided according to the invention on the switching plunger (1) and/or on the lateral slide (7), in such a manner that, when the lateral slide (7) is displaced, its inclined surface or a sliding edge (6) can press against a sliding edge or inclined surface (5) of the switching plunger (1), and the switching plunger (1) can thus be displaced into the unlatched position and the latch can be released and, once the lateral slide (7) has moved back into its original position, the switching plunger (1) can slide back into its rest position. <IMAGE>
