<p>PURPOSE:To increase the speed for sorting recording paper sheets, by providing the waiting locations of a lift member for gripping the recording paper sheet and discharging it to a bin by paper discharge rollers at the locations corresponding to the lowermost, uppermost and central locations. CONSTITUTION:When a recording paper sheet P is supplied, receiving rollers 6, 7 supply it toward the direction of paper discharge rollers 15, 21 and the rollers 15, 21 wait at the location corresponding to the lowermost bin 9. When a paper sensor 23 senses the front end of the recording paper sheet P, the rollers 15, 21 rotate for a prescribed period of time and stop with the front end of the recording paper sheet gripped between them. Next, a lift member 10 and the rollers 15, 21 advance toward a selected bin 9 and stop at the location corresponding to the bin 9, and the rollers 15, 21 are rotated to discharge the recording paper sheet to the bin 9. The lift member 10 and the roller 15, 21 are returned to a waiting location in a prescribed period of time after the sensor 23 senses the rear end of the recording paper sheet P. The waiting location of the lift member 10 is such that it is positioned at a location corresponding to any arbitrary bin 9. With such an arrangement, recording paper sheets can be discharged to a plurality of bins which are nearest to the waiting location of the lift member 10, whereby the speed of a sorting operation can be increased.</p> |
