PURPOSE:To obtain the titled high-density and high-strength graphitic material at a low cost by using plural kinds of powder before molding, and making the particle diameter of the one kind smaller than the mean particle diameter of the most abundantly contained powder by a specified value when aggregate and a binder are successively kneaded, crushed, baked, and graphitized. CONSTITUTION:The aggregate consisting of pitch coke, petroleum coke, graphite, etc., and the binder consisting of coal tar, pitch, etc., are kneaded, and the kneaded material is then crushed, molded, baked, and graphitized to produce a carbonaceous material. At this time, plural kinds of molding powder before molding are mixed and used, and the mean particle diameter of at least one kind of the mixed molding powder is made smaller than the mean particle diameter of the most abundantly contained molding powder by 0.1-0.4 times. Consequently, the particles of the molding powder having smaller mean particle diameter are filled between the particles of the most abundantly contained molding powder, and hence a high-density graphitic material is obtained. |
