PURPOSE:To improve workability and effect operation securely, by detecting a printed machine number mark or a frame line in front of a folding machine, automatically adjusting a compensator in accordance with a phase difference between a detected signal and a rotation signal of a cutting machine for control ling an approximate cutting position. CONSTITUTION:A machine number mark 42 indicates the number of a printing unit where the page is printed and a frame line 43 is printed on a news paper at all times and then no special care is not required for printing them. A travel ing paper 10 is cut by a saw body 22. Since the geometrical distance between the saw body 22 and a mark detector 31 is unchanged, if an approximate cutting position in the saw body 22 changes a signal detected by the mark detector 31 is changed by the same amount. Accordingly, the approximate cutting posi tion can be automatically kept constant by actuating a compensator 18 through a controller 29 so that a phase difference between a rotation signal of the cutting body 22 and the signal detected by the mark detector 31 is kept constant at all times, whereby workability and the reliability of operation is improved. |
