Casing for a fire detector

The casing for a fire detector comprises a casing trough, for receiving a detecting insert, and a door (3) which is articulated, such that it can be folded down, on the casing trough and has a window cutout (9) which is closed by a glass pane (11) and through which the detecting insert is accessible. The door can be locked by means of a snap-type closure (13) which can be unlocked by a bit key (15). The snap-type closure comprises a catch hook, held on the casing trough, and an elongate spring element (19) which can snap in resiliently on the catch hook and the end (47) of which, at the same time, forms a spring protrusion holding the glass pane (11) in the window cutout (9). In order to obtain comparatively long spring paths, the spring element (19) of the snap-type closure (13) is formed by one leg of an essentially U-shaped bent spring (17), the other leg (21) of which forms, by means of its end (47), the spring protrusion holding the glass pane. <IMAGE>
