PURPOSE:To obtain a photodetector having an excellent photoconductive characteristics with good reproducibility by controlling a halogenide which contains Cd to become a flux to be added to applied films in a composition range of 5-7mol% with respect to main ingredients. CONSTITUTION:A primarily activated heat treated powder is mixed at a ratio of 2/8 of CdS/CdSe, pulverized, and kneaded to form a printing paste, and a photoconductive film 2 and a reactive atmosphere control film 5 are formed by a screen printing method on a Pyrex glass substrate 1. These two printed films 2, 5 are activated, and heat treated to form a CdS.CdSe photoconductive film. In this case, halogenide which contains Cd to become a flux to be added to the printed films is varied in a range of composition range of 5-7mol% with respect to the main ingredients to control the characteristics of the activated and heat treated photoconductive films. The obtained photodetector exhibits an extremely high sensitivity such as 50-90muA and an excellent optical responding speed.
