PURPOSE:To make it possible to sensibly determine a measured body temp. value having specific meaning, by allowing the display parts of at least one figure in a numeral display device to emit lights in respectively different color phases in such a state that a specific measured temp. value is set to a boundary. CONSTITUTION:When the switch of a clinical thermometer main body is turned ON, the power of a battery 8 is supplied to a controller 7, an A/D converter 6 and a thermistor 3. At the beginning of the detection of temp., the numeral display parts 9A, 9B of a segment diode 9 respectively display zero. When the temp. of the thermistor 3 enters a region capable of securing accuracy as a clinical thermometer, the green light emitting element 11B of a surface light emitting diode 10 emits light by the control order of the controller 7 and the display parts 9A, 9B of each figure of the numeral display part 9 emit lights to display the numeral corresponding to digital output. Subsequently, when a detected temp. value reaches 40 deg.C or more, the supply of current to the diode 10 is changed over from the green light emitting element 11B to a red light emitting element 11A by the control of the controller 7 and the diode 10 emits red light. By this method, the measured value can be determined sensibly.
