Development times and development costs in developing large-scale integrated electronic chips are frequently considerably increased due to the fact that the functions to be required are not yet adequately specified at the beginning of the design and the large-scale integration can therefore only be started at the latest possible time. To save development time and costs in this case, it is proposed to store the as yet inadequately specified functions as a table in a laser-programmable ROM (LPROM) at the beginning of design.
