A mouth douche has a pump unit which can be driven by an electronically controlled electric motor and delivers via a hose line to a handpiece having a nozzle pipe with a spray nozzle and an inlet bore and an outflow bore. The handpiece has an actuation slide on the outside for the emergence of liquid. In order to reduce the operating complexity the handpiece (17) is provided with two independent outflow bores (8, 11) communicating with a single-jet or multiple-jet outlet in the nozzle pipe (10), and the actuation slide (8) actuates a control unit (12) for the individual connection of the outflow bores (8, 11) to the inlet bore by movement in opposite directions from a separation position and influences an electronic control unit (13) for different speeds of the pump unit motor (14) by movement in further directions. <IMAGE>
