A serving machine for table tennis balls or the like is proposed, in which the ejector device has a rotating roller and, opposite thereto, a ball guiding device which has differently shaped ball guiding surfaces. In order to achieve a wide variety of types of stroke and/or slice, the ball guiding surface required in each case can become effective. The whole serving device is also pivotable about a horizontal axis, as a result of which the number of different types of stroke achievable is increased.
