In jibs for luffing cranes, in particular heavy road cranes with a hydraulic luffing device, two luffing cylinders lying side by side are usually used in order to keep as light as possible the crane parts to be removed for road transport on account of weight restrictions applicable to this. The difficulties arising in construction and in handling in particular when connecting the hydraulic connections are avoided by two luffing cylinders being combined with a rigid connection of the two cylinder shells (1) and a common articulation at both ends. The problem-free, simultaneous connection of the hydraulic supply for both luffing cylinders, which is also satisfactory during frequent reconstruction, is especially ensured when the two cylinder shells (1) are made in one piece or are welded or screwed to one another at their ends or are connected to one another by common head and foot pieces (5, 6). <IMAGE>
