A safety arrangement for water-carrying household appliances has a controllable valve (7) at a fixed water line (9). Attached at one end to the valve (7) is a feed tube (6) which is connected with its other end to a tank in the appliance housing (1). An outer tube (10) surrounds the feed tube (6), a sensor (14) being provided for detecting water in the intermediate space (12) between the tubes (6, 10). The sensor lies in the control circuit of the valve (7). In order to detect leakage water in the intermediate space (12) in a simple manner, the outer tube (10) is closed at the appliance-side end and is open at the valve-side end (11), and in addition the sensor (14) is attached in the area of the deepest point of the outer tube (10) inside the appliance housing (1). <IMAGE>
