PURPOSE:To enhance preservability along with thermal characteristics, heat resistance and water resistance, in a thermal recording paper using colorless electron donating leuco dye as a color former, by containing at least one kind of a phenol compound represented by a specific formula in a recording layer as an acidic substance. CONSTITUTION:At least one kind of colorless electron donating leuco dye being a color former and at least one kind of a phenol compound represented by general formula I (wherein R1 and R2 are a hydrogen atom, a 1-5C alkyl group, a 1-5C alkoxy group or a halogen atom and n is an integer of 1-9) are made present in one thermal recording layer as fine particles in a uniform state. As a binder for bonding a mixture of the color former and the coupler to a support sheet, a water-soluble or water-insoluble binder such as polyvinyl alcohol is used. The wt. ratios of both components and the binder are set so that the amount of the phenol compound represented by the general formula I is 1-10 times, pref. 1-5 times and the binder is 0.3-3 times with respect to the color former. |
