PURPOSE:To transmit data required by a sheet feeder to a printer assembly based on turning on and off of a paper end detection switch, by causing a switching arm for switching an paper end detection arm, an automatic paper feed function and a manual paper feed function to actuate a single paper end detection switch. CONSTITUTION:The stud 8 of a switching arm 6 rotates about a fulcrum 7 by releasing a change switch 1 and the hook portion 9 at the other end of a switching arm lifts the angle portion 11 of an actuator 10. Since the actuator 10 has a load applied by a paper end detection spring 4, it applies a load to a paper end detection switch 12 to push the paper end detection switch 12. A paper end detection arm 3 swings about the fulcrum 7. A paper end detection spring 15 moves the side of the paper end detection arm 3 adjacent to a roller 13 downwardly to lift the actuator 10. However, when a paper sheet is on a hopper, the roller 13 is not moved downwardly and the actuator 10 remains moved downwardly.
