摘要 PURPOSE:To obtain an alkaline secondary cell of a better properties on mechanical strength, gas absorption, and a high rate discharge performance, by spreading a specific mixture solution over the surface of a cadmium negative electrode plate which has an active substance consisting of mainly cadmium oxide powder or cadmium hydroxide powder on a conductive core body, and then drying it up. CONSTITUTION:Over the surface of a compressed powder type or paste type negative electrode plate having an active substance layer mainly of cadmium oxide powder or cadmium hydroxide powder, a mixture solution mixing a dispersion solution of PTFE powder including 5 to 50wt% nickel powder and the like, and CMC solution, is spread and then dried up. In this case, the density of the mixture solution is specially made to contain 0.5 to 1.5wt% CMC, and 1 to 10wt% PTFE powder. Owing to the presence of nichel powder, PTFE powder, and CMC on the negative electrode active substance, the activating point of gas absorption is expanded, not only increasing the gas absorption capability, but also restricting almost perfectly the deterioration of the gas absorption capability even in repeating charge and discharge. And an alkaline cell of an excellent high rate discharge performance even at a low temperature can be obtained.
