PURPOSE:To improve the indexing accuracy by incorporating the index device for turning the outer shape punching die by an optional angle into a metal die. CONSTITUTION:The external shape punching die 4 is press-fitted into a hollow output shaft 2 in the main body 1 of the rotary index device which equips the hollow output shaft 2 and input shaft 3 incorporated inside a metal die. The rotary index device main body 1 is fitted to a die set 6 by a plate 7. The turning force coming in the input shaft 3 can turn the hollow output shaft 2 which incorporates the external shape punching die 4 with correct indexing accuracy since no transmission means is provided between the external shape punching die 4 and rotary index device main body 1.
