PURPOSE:To contrive to attain small size, thin profile, light weight, and low cost by mounting major components on a main base processed with high accuracy and minimum plane dimension and mounting the base onto a subbase processed with coarse accuracy and nearly the same size as that of the base in a plane size. CONSTITUTION:The major components such as a stepping motor 3, a head carriage 5, a sensor 4 and a spindle motor 2 are mounted together on the main base processed with high accuracy and having a minimum plane dimension to attain small size and thin profile. The main base 1 is fitted to the subbase 10 processed coarsely and having nearly the same plane size as that of the base 1, made of sheet metal processing or synthetic resin molding. Thus, small size, thin profile, light weight and low cost are attained and the efficiency of the assembling and adjusting time at production is improved.
