<p>PURPOSE:To aim at diffusing evaporated fuel flowing through a port within a casing and to enhance the capacity of absorption, by setting areas on retainer plates laid on the upper and lower surfaces of a layer of evaporated fuel absorbent stored in the casing, which oppose to the port, as closed areas. CONSTITUTION:In an evaporated fuel disposing device (canister) 100, an absorbent layer 10 composed of absorbent 8 is disposed in a casing 2, both upper and lower surfaces of the layer 10 being supported by retainer plates 14, 20 having several communication holes 14a, 20a formed therein, through the intermediary of unwoven fabric filters 12, 18. A float chamber port 28 communicated with the space 22 between the inner surface of the casing 2 and the retainer plate 20 is formed in the upper cover 6 of the casing 2. In this arrangement, an area on the retainer plate 20 opposing the float chamber port 28 is set as a closed area 150 in which communication holes 20a are blocked. Further, evaporated fuel introduced into the space 22 through the port 28 impinges upon the above-mentioned closed area 150 so that the fuel is diffused.</p> |
