PURPOSE:To observe a fine part while observing the whole by providing a subordinate observation optical system by a main observation optical system and allowing the both to share the same eyepieces during observation. CONSTITUTION:Light beams which are transmitted through an objective 1 and reflected beam splitters 2a and 2b are incident on beam splitters 4a and 4b through total reflecting prisms 7a and 7b, variable power lens groups 8a and 8b, and movable total reflecting prisms 9a and 9b. Then, they are reflected by the beam splitters 4a and 4b and incident on the pupils Ea and Eb of a person to be inspected through relay lenses 5a and 5b and eyepieces 6a and 6b. The movable total reflecting prisms 9a and 9b are so provided as to split optical axes between the two variable power lens groups 3a and 3b, and 8a and 8b as shown by dotted lines, and 9a' and 9b', for example, indicate a state in which their positions are shifted. Thus, the eyes Ea and Eb are shifted slightly in pupil position to observe two images which differ in magnification within the same visual field.
