PURPOSE:To eliminate the operation trouble of an ejector pin mechanism and to prevent resticking of sand to a molding pattern by progressively feeding a downward molding pattern carriage to molding-, calcination- and taking-out station thereby forming a shell mold. CONSTITUTION:The carriage 4 provided with the molding pattern 5 with ejector pins 25 energized by vertically moving springs 24 so as to face downward is subjected to sand sticking and molding by lifting a sand box 6 contg. shell sand B of the molding station 1. The carriage is traversely fed to the calcination station 2 where the binder layer A' of the pattern 5 is heated and calcined by a burner 17. The carriage is further traversely fed and the ejector pins 25 are pushed down by overcoming the energizing force of the springs 25 to receive the shell mold A by tips 27 with springs 28 of a mold receiving mechanism 26 in the taking-out station 3. The operation failure of the pins 25 by the engagement of sand and the deterioration of the springs 24 by heating up are prevented and the resticking trouble of the shell sand B to the pattern 5 is eliminated.
