摘要 PURPOSE:To attain multiplex recording where the recording density exceeds 10<8>/bit/cm<2> by irradiating a light whose polarization is controllable to an optical recording medium comprising an accumulated film having the anisotropy of molecule orientation different from each layer formed by the Langmuir project method. CONSTITUTION:The accumulated films L1-Ln being the accumulation of plural single molecule films consist of accumulated films having a different anisotropy of molecular orientation, the polarization of the light differs between two optional accumulated films and the polarization of light is kept the same between the single molecule films of an optional accumulated film. In irradiating a laser light 11 having a polarization thetai to a storage medium where the accumulated films L1-Ln of single molecular films are in the state of J, only the accumulated film of a specific single molecular film is changed to a state 12 of J*. The change is sensed and it is used as a binary code signal and the polarization thetai is controlled and n-set of information is written in a recording point (i) in the dimensional of the polarization thetai.
