PRODUCTION OF CLAD METAL

PURPOSE:To continuously cast a 3-layered clad metal with good quality to a specified thickness by pouring and solidifying the 2nd molten metal between the bottom surface of the 1st ingot continuously cast by cooling rolls and an endless belt and further solidifying the 3rd molten metal at the bottom surfaces thereof by the cooling rolls. CONSTITUTION:The 1st molten metal A in a spout 9 is continuously cast by the cooling rolls 8 in a nonoxidation atmosphere to obtain the 1st ingot A'. The 1st ingot A' is cooled 5 and guided 4 from the top surface and the 2nd molten metal B is poured from a spout 7 between said ingot and the endless belt 1 to solidify the 2nd ingot B' in contact with the 1st ingot. The 3rd molten metal C in a spout 12 in further poured by the cooling roll 10 between said rolls and the bottom surface of the 2nd ingot B' to solidify the 3rd ingot C' in contact therewith. The 3-layered clad material is rolled down between pinch roll 15 and reduction roll 14 and is discharged. The 3-layered clad material is welded satisfactorily to each other without oxide layers and is continuously cast as the good quality material having the specified thickness.
