PURPOSE:To perform accurate positioning of a workpiece relative to a workpiece transfer means without employing multiple workpiece transfer means of kinds different from each other by attaching multiple workpiece positioning jigs having different engagement parts to the workpiece transfer means. CONSTITUTION:A pallet 25 to be moved on a transfer-in/out conveyed 23 are equipped with workpiece support pieces 26 for supporting a rear suspension unit to be placed on the pallet and jig receiving parts 27 having tapered parts 27a on which a workpiece positioning jig is to be mounted for positioning the rear suspension unit supported with the workpiece support pieces 26 relative to the pallet 25. Around a handling robot 30 are arranged jig supply devices 40, 41 and 42 with their tables 40b, 41b and 42b provided with different kinds of workpiece positioning jigs 50, 51 and 52. Accordingly, the rear suspension unit is properly positioned relative to the pallet 25.
