PURPOSE:To set a light source at distance from a lighting part by entering light a rod-shaped light-transmitting transparent material at least from one end surface and transmitting the light, and leaking the light from a local part of the lengthwise surface of the transparent material and irradiating a desired part with the leaking light. CONSTITUTION:Reflecting films 2 and 3 are formed part of the surface of the surface of rod-shaped glass 1 where no light leaks and one end surface by vapor deposition of aluminum or nickel plating. Then, a halogen light source 5 which emits relatively intense light is installed nearby the end surface of the glass 1 which faces the reflecting film 3. When the light from the halogen light source 5 is made incident on the glass 1, the light is transmitted and leaks from the part where neither of the reflecting films 2 and 3 is provided. A desired place is irradiated with this leaking light to obtain a lighting system. |
