PURPOSE:To produce good foil metal by heating molten active metal at higher specified temp. than its melting point to prevent natural leakage of the molten metal from a nozzle, flowing down from the slit nozzle under pressurizing and cooling rapidly as bringing into contact with a cooling body moving at high speed. CONSTITUTION:The molten active metal 6 consisting of such as Ni-Ti, Co-Zr, Co-Hf, Co-Ti, Fe-Co-Ni-Ti(Zr, Hf), Co-Sm, Fe-Nd(-B) and Fe-Zr series alloys, in a molten metal storage vessel 1 is heated at 20-100 deg.C higher temp. than each melting point by a heating coil 4. Then, as the molten metal 6 has suitable viscosity, it is prevented from plugging in the nozzle 2 and natural leakage thereof, and flowed down smoothly under pressurizing 5 and brought into contact with the surface of the cooling roll rotating at high speed to cool rapidly and produce the foil metal. Therefore, the producing operation is executed smoothly. |
