PURPOSE:To provide a vermin-controlling agent capable of dissipating active substance in water in extremely high efficiency and exhibiting excellent controlling effect, by compounding a vermin-controlling component to a substance generating gas in water. CONSTITUTION:A vermin-controlling component such as insect-growth regulator, insecticide, etc., is compounded to a substance which generates gas when immersed in water, e.g. a substance generating carbon dioxide gas by the reaction of an acid and a carbonate in water, a liquefied gas such as liquid oxygen, liquid nitrogen, etc., a solid substance generating gas in water such as dry ice, etc. The vermin-controlling component is preferably methoprene, hydroprene or 2-[1-methyl-2-(4-phenoxyphenoxy)ethoxyl]pyridine. A bomb-type controlling agent containing liquefied gas or propellant as a substance generating gas in water has excellent diffusibility of the active component and excellent stability with time. The controlling agent is applied to stationary water system such as lake, marsh, pond, underground spring water tank, etc.
