PURPOSE:To improve the processability of a composite, laminate, or paint comprising a polymer and to increase the bond strength and adhesion thereof, by using a polybutadiene/titanium compd. obtd. by reacting a specified butadiene polymer with an org. titanate. CONSTITUTION:This surface treating agent contains a polybutadiene/titanium compd. obtd. by reacting a butadiene polymer having at least one carboxyl group or acid anhydride group with an org. titanate. Said butadiene polymer is a polymer having an MW of 500-5,000, composed of at least 50% butadiene. The org. titanate is a compd. of the formula (R1O)3TiX [wherein R1 groups may be the same or different and each is a 1-3C hydrocarbon group which may be substituted; X is R1O-, R2COO-, etc. (wherein R1 is as defined above; R2 groups may be the same or different groups and each is a 1-13C hydrocarbon group which may be substituted)].
