PURPOSE:To obtain a reproducing picture with a few strokes by delaying a video signal to be recorded at an adjacent track by respective different delay time corresponding to a delay circuit, and recording so as to form an H- arrangement on a tape. CONSTITUTION:An input signal Si is inputted to a delay circuit 5 through an AD converter 4, and a synchronizing signal is inputted from a synchronizing separator circuit 6 to a delay quantity control circuit 7, and the delay circuit 5 is controlled so as to give a different delay quantity at every field, and the delay quantity of '0' at a track 3-0, DELTA1 at a track 3-1, DELTA2 at a track 3-2 are given, then the H-arrangement can be formed. A signal on which a prescribed delay quantity is given is recorded on a magnetic tape 1. A reproducing analog signal is inputted to an AD converter 15, and a clock pulse synchronized with a reproducing synchronizing signal by a reproducing synchronizing separator circuit 16 is generated from a clock generator 17, and a digital signal is written on a memory circuit 19, then being read, and it becomes an output signal SO. The reproducing synchronizing separator circuit 16 performs a synchronizing separation considering a quantity of skew DELTA1 and DELTA2, etc., at every field.
