PURPOSE:To provide a casting epoxy resin compsn. which has excellent flow characteristics and gives cured articles having excellent resistance to cracking and heat, low shrinkage, etc., by blending an epoxy resin contg. a curing agent with a fibrous material having a specified shape and inorg. particles in a specified volume ratio. CONSTITUTION:An epoxy resin (A) (e.g., a bisphenol A glycidyl ether type epoxy resin) contg. a curing agent (e.g., methyltetrahydrophthalic anhydride), a fibrous material (B) having an average diameter of 0.1-20mum and an average length of 0.3-300mum (e.g., glass fiber or alumina fiber) and an inorg. particle (c) having an average particle size of 0.005-0.05mum (e.g., silica particle or alumina particle) are prepd. 100pts.vol. component A is mixed with the components B and C in such a proportion as to satisfy the relationship of 5pts.vol. <=B+C <40pts.vol. and 0.01<=C/(B+C)<0.2, thus obtaining the desired epoxy resin compsn.
