In an safety coupling of the breaking pin type for transmitting a torque between a hub part 1 and an outer part 3 through a breaking pin 4, the outer part may be conical and have dimensions fitting borings made in hubs, such that these may be mounted on an axle part by means of a conical split bushing, the taper angle of which may be between 2 and 7 degrees. Such a coupling is compact and may easily be built into existing machinery by simple exchange without re- construction. <IMAGE>
