PURPOSE:To print favorably, by such a heat generating driving operation that, of a plurality of heat generating dots, the ones located at a boundary are supplied with a quantity of electric power larger than that supplied to each of the other heat generating dots. CONSTITUTION:When supplying electric power to each of heat generating dots 1 through electrode layers 9, 10, driving is so performed that the quantity of electric power supplied to each of the dots 1a, 1b located at a boundary is larger than that supplied to each of the other dots, whereby the temperature of the dots 1a, 1b is prevented from being lowered. Concretely, the energization time for the dots 1a, 1b located at the boundary is prolonged as compared with that for the other dots. Since the supply of electric power to each of the heat generating dots is performed by giving a current pulse to the dot, the energization time for the dots 1a, 1b located at the boundary can be prolonged by increasing the number of the current pulses supplied to the dots 1a, 1b. |
