PURPOSE:To improve the operability of an extension in terms of a mark-out type private branch exchange by activating an exchange at an incoming side from the number of digits previously stored, and then automatically transmitting a subsequent number after the prescribed time passes when a caller memorizes all the digits of a dialed number and sets a call from the memorized number. CONSTITUTION:An all number memory means 200 stores all the digits of the number dialed by the caller. An start digit number memory means 300 stores the number of digits starting the incoming side exchange 400 at every incoming side exchange 400. When the private branch exchange 100 sets a call from the number stored by the all number memory means 200, it activates the incoming side exchange 400 from the number of digits stored in the start digit number memory means 300, after which automatically transmits the subsequent number after a lapse of the preset time. As a result the private branch exchange 100 can execute the same processing irrespective of the type of the incoming side exchange 400, thereby improving the operability of an extension.
